With ongoing negotiation between the USA and China on the trade and tariff issues, it’s interesting to observe the positions that both countries are coming from. The following are statements made by ambassadors both nations appointed to each other, and sheds a lot of light on each nation’s perspective:
This explains a lot of the behavior coming out of the US in the last year or so. Furthermore, regardless of how the US negotiations with China turns out, this also does a good job of predicting how the future of international politics will be – a continuation of unnecessary drama and thinly veiled power grabs. A shame when both countries could be cooperating together to developing better things, such as robots and self driving cars.
