A feral cat came through a hole in the backyard of Chris Thomas, a man from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Chris took the time to feed the feral cat everyday and slowly gained her trust. Chris was likely not in a good place in life at the time, as he described that taking care of the cat was the only thing that got him out of bed on some days. The cat showed up one day with blood on her ear, and Chris allowed her inside out of concern. A day later the cat, now named Frances, gave birth in Chris’s basement.
He originally planned to adopt the kittens out, but the cats appeared to have bonded with each other, and not wanting to separate them, Chris decided to keep them all. Now he is the caretaker of 8 cats (apparently, not all are the kittens from the stray):

Chris lost his job shortly after deciding to keep this family of cats. Fortunately, sharing the story of these cats online has resulted in good things for him. He now host a cat product review show on Amazon called Cool Cat Stuff with Frances and Family
The cat show that Chris hosts, along with probably support from other social media account related to his feline family, has helped financially support him. In his own words regarding the feral stray he saved, “She saved me just as much as I saved her.”
An ex-girlfriend of Chris’s has also cut out the part of his yard’s fence with the hole where Frances the feral cat first came through:

Rather sentimental, but very fitting.
