The Matroskin Shelter recently rescued a stray cat named Kroshik (roughly “bread crumb” in Russian) from the basement of a hospital in the Russian city of Perm. He was fed a diet of human food, including generous amounts of cookies and soup, and weighed a staggering 38 pounds upon his rescue:

He was placed in a facility and put under a strict regiment of diet and exercise. He recently attempted to break free of the feline fat camp, only to be found stuck on a shoe rack, with his face inside someone’s croc shoe:

He was initially distraught, but apparently calmed down after being fed. There is a very, very long road ahead of Kroshik until he reaches his weight goal of 10 pounds.
Fortunately, as of the last couple of weeks, he is already down to 34 pounds.
